Mulberry Street

It seems that one way to cement yourself as a style icon is to collaborate on a bag design. Kate Moss is doing it with Longchamp and now Alexa Chung is joining the ranks with the Alexa Bag for Mulberry. The bag emulates Alexa's downtown preppster look and the British cutie has already been spotted carrying around her namesake tote. Add that to the recent showing of Chung's collaboration with denim darling Madewell, that has been getting rave reviews, attests to the fact that she isn't going anywhere soon. But the best way to start snagging Alexa's signature style is by taking a trip down Mulberry street.

Collaboration Nation: Sonia Rykiel x H & M

I had the pleasure of going to H and M for the launch of Sonia Rykiel's clothing for the retailer, which debuted on February 20. There was definitely a big turn out and for good reason because the stripes and slouchy silhouettes are textbook Rykiel. Get yourself to an H and M as quickly as you can because this one is so good it won't last long! The collaboration is the perfect way to start off your spring wardrobe with a little Parisian chic.

Collaboration Nation: Rodarte x Target

Though this may not be new news to you, before the new year began one of the most talked about collaborations of 2009 was released, Rodarte for Target. The collection has been incredibly popular, and people rushed to pick up the slip like items and rib cage dress. I was lucky enough to snag the lace leopard dress above and rocked it for new year's eve! Most pieces have sold out online, but you may be lucky enough to pick up an item from the collection at your local Target before it leaves stores on January 31.

Collaboration Nation: Vera Wang

Though the collaboration between Vera Wang and Kohls is not new, it seems the line has had new life breathed into it for the holidays. The one strong point has actually been the sleepwear, which has comfortable and stylish nighties every season. This cream top has lovely contrast beading at the neckline and a feminine ruffle at the bottom that is dare I say it, Simply Vera.

Just Peachy

Starting today, Paul and Joe's exclusive collaboration with the Outnet is available for purchase. I love the coral color of this winter coat, and the gold buttons and silhouette add a military inspired vibe. Since most of my winter coats tend to be darker colors this jacket would be a nice departure from drab neutrals. Be sure to check out this and the rest of the Paul and Joe for the Outnet collection because all of the pieces are just peachy.

Hot Topic

Have I proclaimed my love for neon recently, because if not than this Jimmy Choo clutch is a great place to reassert it. A bit retro with it's triangle flap and the bright yellow color are sure to brighten up any outfit. The clutch comes in a hot pink as well for those not drawn to the yellow. This post is also appropriately timed because today is the official launch of Jimmy Choo's collaboration with H & M. Keep your eyes out for this clutch though because it is definitely a hot topic.

Collaboration Nation: Stella McCartney x Gap Kids

While I have been waiting anxiously for the arrival of Pierre Hardy for Gap fall shoes, a day that seems like it may never come, another collaboration has sprung up in the meantime. Today marks the launch of Stella McCartney for Gap Kids. Though I realize we decidedly are not kids, that doesn't mean that a lucky few tiny ladies can't take advantage. Some of the best pieces already appear to be sold out online such as this Leopard Sweater Tunic and a boys Band Jacket. So run to those select few Gap stores carrying the line if you have a moment, either for yourself or some very stylish toddlers.

Collaboration Nation: Ruffian x Anthropologie

One collaboration that has managed to slip under the radar is the collection that Ruffian has produced for Anthropologie called Mise en Scene. Highlights include this camel winter coat with double ruffle collar that can either be buttoned up or let down. I also was taken by this little chiffon dotted blouse that would be a great piece to layer this winter. The collection also features amazing platinum ombre drinking glasses.

Step Up

After a trip to Scandinavia, I became obsessed with their unreasonably good looking, well dressed hipsters. One of the other things I got hooked on was the amazing Swedish brand, Acne Jeans. From their Pop Chinos to their recent collaboration with Lanvin making luxury denim dresses and jackets, this company has continued to raise it's style quota with age. I love these leather booties with suede covered heel. They have a side zip, and also remind me a bit of the Marc Jacobs shoes where the heel emerged from the sole and was parallel to the ground. Either way, they are certainly fierce and a step above the rest.

Collaboration Nation: Where the Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony

Where the Wild Things Are is being released into theaters soon, through director Spike Jones's vision. Opening Ceremony was so inspired that they created a line of pieces that draw from Jones's characters. They are all super furry and you can even purchase Max pajamas complete with eared hood. I was drawn to the Ira Full Skirt and the Bull Shawl Jacket. These pieces are sure to bring out the wild thing in you.

Collaboration Nation: Norma Kamali

For our second installment of Collaboration Nation, we focus on Norma Kamali's little known WalMart collection. When it launched this past summer, it garnered rave reviews from fashion editors across the board, hailing the incredible quality and even better price. Though I was unable to get this Batwing cardigan the first time around, it seems that WalMart has recently replenished their stock for fall and I promptly ordered one. There is simply no beating the price and to top it off shipping was only .97 cents! I kind of doubted that WalMart could bring style to the mass market, but with this collaboration they are well on their way.

Collaboration Nation: Christopher Kane

There are so many great collaborations out there that I have decided to start chronicling them in a new piece that we at MMM would like to call Collaboration Nation. Let's start with Christopher Kane's collection for TopShop which launched yesterday. Though I am not a girl for lace, the combination of the metal eyelets, black color, and cutouts, make this dress fresh. Most of the collections pieces are already sold out online, including the Crocodile print dress and tee shirt, which are an extension of the Gorilla dress that Kane made a couple of seasons ago. Check out the entire collection at TopShop now.

Seeing Green

This jaw dropping quilted lame mini-skirt by the inspired Rodarte is guaranteed to get you noticed in a crowd this fall. This piece is so amazing it makes me drool and also even more anxious for the Rodarte for Target collaboration to hit stores on December 20. Though your eyes may be seeing green, your wallet may not, but have no fear you will still look fabulous.
