Bada Boum

One thing a couple of designers from NYFW have been toying with is the idea of being able purchase items fresh off the runway instead of waiting months until fall rolls around. I love this idea of instant gratification because when I see something I like, I want it NOW! Rebecca Minkoff is one designer who is trying out this new method by making a limited quantity of this Bada Boum tee from her fall presentation available for purchase now. So Bada Boum, need we say more.

Go for the Gold

I, for one, was thrilled watching the opening ceremony for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics because the United States athletes were finally looking chic in attire that flattered them. Though this isn't Ralph Lauren's first stint creating the wardrobe to represent our country, it is definitely his best effort to date. Show some team spirit by sporting pieces created for the opening ceremony and go for the gold!

Dashing Demin

A boyfriend fit chambray shirt is a must for spring, where denim is no longer limited to just jeans. J.Crew's Selvage Chambray Shirt is stone washed for a worn in feel that looks fantastic dressed up or dressed down. So don't be afraid to don a Mexican tuxedo, because denim just got a whole lot more dashing.

Flower Child

One thing is for certain, florals are going to be huge come spring and summer. This top from American Eagle is a sweet, feminine way to hop on the trend now by pairing it with a blazer and jeans, but will also work great with a skirt or shorts come spring. The best part about it? It's a steal for $29.50 and comes in five different colors. Channeling your inner flower child has never been this easy.

Slouch Style

My obsession with blazers does not seem like it is going to die anytime soon, but I am always looking for new variations to shake things up. Enter Alice + Olivia's Cascade wool blend blazer complete with faux suede collar that is the perfect mix of put together and downtown chic. So give this slouchy style a try next time you are out on the town for a hip, clean look.

In-Vested

While browsing the city this past weekend I stumbled upon this zip front ruffled vest and fell in love. Imagine my surprise when I discovered none other than Theory made the chic little number. I thought this piece was a bit of a departure for the brand, but regardless it has all of the high quality fabric and construction that I have come to love from Theory. So don't be afraid to get invested in this piece, it will transition perfectly into spring and beyond.

Wonder Stripe

To continue with my love of nautical stripes that surely is not going to ebb any time soon, comes Acne's take on the trend. As is typical of the super hip Swedish brand, they use a relaxed silhouette and altering the direction of the stripes gives it a chic, vintage vibe. This striped number definitely is a wonder.

Collaboration Nation: Vera Wang

Though the collaboration between Vera Wang and Kohls is not new, it seems the line has had new life breathed into it for the holidays. The one strong point has actually been the sleepwear, which has comfortable and stylish nighties every season. This cream top has lovely contrast beading at the neckline and a feminine ruffle at the bottom that is dare I say it, Simply Vera.

Disco Ball

With New Year's fast approaching, I have already started thinking about what to wear when the ball drops and we move into 2010. When I saw this Alice + Olivia sequined bustier top it just screamed wear me to a fabulous party. The sequins on the top snake around making it look almost mosaic. Why have everyone focused on the clock striking 12 when this top is your very own disco ball. Shine on!

Yikes Stripes!

Nautical themed stripes are going to be a hot trend this spring and summer. I like Cynthia Rowley's take on nautical from her resort collection, which does black and blue as opposed to the traditional white and navy. The dots on this cashmere sweater also add some whimsy, and I love the combination of a small stripe and the larger stripe in the skirt. This is one outfit that will have you saying, "Yikes Stripes!"

Total Package

Every so often, a company that has steadily been producing incredible accessories makes the leap into apparel. Sometimes this foray is a complete and utter letdown, while others take the challenge and soar. One case of success is Loeffler Randall, who has been making awe inspiring shoes for seasons now. Just recently they added clothing to the mix, and I am not one for buying a total outfit from the same designer but this Triangle Fold Blouse and Layered Skirt combination is certainly something to drool over. So you may soon see me in head to toe Loeffler Randall, but not to worry, it's the total package.

Collaboration Nation: Ruffian x Anthropologie

One collaboration that has managed to slip under the radar is the collection that Ruffian has produced for Anthropologie called Mise en Scene. Highlights include this camel winter coat with double ruffle collar that can either be buttoned up or let down. I also was taken by this little chiffon dotted blouse that would be a great piece to layer this winter. The collection also features amazing platinum ombre drinking glasses.

Check Please

Plaid has been everywhere this fall and will most certainly stick around well into winter. Luckily, those sick of the boyfriend, lumberjack look now have a chicer alternative in Steven Alan's Heddy Shirt. This shirt has a nice relaxed fit that paired with some skinny jeans and boots will bring out the hipster in you. This new plaid will have boys everywhere paying your bar tabs, "Check please."

Block Party

If you watched Monday's episode of Gossip Girl, than you most certainly saw Blair wearing this great Diane von Furstenberg top to a Roof Top Rager. Though she was humiliated by not being able to fit in with an NYU crowd, this Upper East Sider could not be made fun of for her wardrobe. This top looked great on Blair paired with lemon lime colored shorts, but would look great with jeans this winter. Get ready to rock the block.

Rational Dressing

This top by Society for Rational Dress with leather strap at the back is just so different. I love the paint stroke look that the blue and white print gives off, but the flutter of the sleeves in the back then bunched together is so interesting it couldn't help but catch my eye. Forget dressing rational, this is down right dressing fabulous.
