Trick or Treat

Looking for last minute Halloween ideas, American Apparel has some for those who haven't quite figured out their costume. Last year, I used an American Apparel leotard to create my gymnast costume and wore it beyond Halloween with jeans and shorts. Some of their suggestions include an aerobics class, a hip hop couple, and grandparents. So have fun today and get your trick or treats in!

Birds of a Feather

Headbands have become one of the new accessories that some people just can't live without. It is an extra piece of flair that can polish off a look flawlessly, and we all have Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl to thank for that. Queen B would definitely appreciate this feathered number and her minions would be sure to follow because birds of a feather flock together.

Bead Dazzled

Fiona Paxton's amazing beaded pieces became famous when they were spied dangling around Drew Barrymore's neck. Though they may not be new, there is still something incredibly fresh about the combination of sequins, beads, and chains. This is one hippie chic necklace that you can either dress up or dress down, and it will certainly leave you bead dazzled.

Back to the Future

Everyone has been on a Mad Men kick for quite some time now and if that involves having to watch Jon Hamm count me in! This dress channels the spirit of that era in the front and is show stopping in the back. I also love the navy and black combination, which I have been a fan of for years. This is one dress that will certainly pull you back to the future.

Match Made in Heaven

Designed by Kiel Mead, this match stick necklace is both simple and clever. I love the idea of taking everyday items and putting them in gold or silver form. Mead has also created a drill bit necklace, the metal rope tied Forget Me Knot rings, and even put a cinder block on a chain. One thing is for sure, this piece is a match made in heaven.

Dear Diary

I know that chronicling your daily activities in a diary is cliché, not to mention much too time consuming. Enter Philipp Keel's Simple Diary, which was created with a prompting question for each day to cut down on journaling time and entertain you in the process. The books also come in 6 eye catching colors that may have you saying, "Dear diary," after all.

Jumper Joy

This Silence and Noise Studded Jumper caught my eye not just because of it's super sleek styling, the studs on the shoulders add a bit of flair. I have debated trying a jumper for awhile now because it is one piece and poof, insta-outfit. This piece may just be the one that gets me to dive into the romper trend and jump for joy.

Collaboration Nation: Ruffian x Anthropologie

One collaboration that has managed to slip under the radar is the collection that Ruffian has produced for Anthropologie called Mise en Scene. Highlights include this camel winter coat with double ruffle collar that can either be buttoned up or let down. I also was taken by this little chiffon dotted blouse that would be a great piece to layer this winter. The collection also features amazing platinum ombre drinking glasses.

Rubber Band

Though summer is over, surely any hipster who spent theirs on the island of Nantucket returned wearing a stack of these on their wrist. The recycled bracelets by Made with Love in Brazil raise funds for L'Empire des Enfants, a school for homeless children in Darkar, Senegal. So add an eco-friendly pop of color to your wrist, while supporting a good cause and join the rubber band.

Trail Blazer

One wardrobe staple for this winter and beyond is a black blazer. Designers have offered up a number of different silhouettes, but the two I am most taken with are polar opposites. First up is Elizabeth and James's Blade Runner Jacket with sharp shoulders and a defined hem. The other style is a boxy, boyfriend fit as seen in this Vince 3/4 Sleeve version. Whatever you choose, a sleek black jacket is sure to make you a trail blazer.

Check Please

Plaid has been everywhere this fall and will most certainly stick around well into winter. Luckily, those sick of the boyfriend, lumberjack look now have a chicer alternative in Steven Alan's Heddy Shirt. This shirt has a nice relaxed fit that paired with some skinny jeans and boots will bring out the hipster in you. This new plaid will have boys everywhere paying your bar tabs, "Check please."

Geo Gorgeous

Yet another reason we worship Marc Jacobs is this drool inducing collection handbag. The Gash bag has an amazing geometric pattern and the purple color is divine. Sometimes there are no words, and this bag is simply geo-gorgeous.

Tanned Hide

Sometimes the best things come in small, simple packages and this Rachel Nasvik handbag is no exception. Though I have been drawn to neon accessories recently to brighten up winter, the Eleanor bag is just perfect and practical. With a chunky sweater, sling this number over your shoulder for a super hip look. This is one tanned hide that only will get better with age.

Fur Paux

This faux fur vest by BB Dakota makes me want to channel an Olsen twin this winter. Since becoming acclimatized to warmer weather, I plan on using layering to keep me warm and this vest definitely fits into that vision. Make no mistake, faux fur is an incredible alternative to the real deal and is certainly not a fashion faux pas.
Editor's Note: BB Dakota is accredited with making the Bella jacket worn by Kristen Stewart in the incredibly popular vampire love saga, Twilight.

Maximillion

These Maxine sandals by Charlotte Olympia made me gasp when I first laid eyes on them. They have purple suede on the top with a tassel at the zipper, and metallic fuschia leather on the platform and heels. When paired with a neutral toned outfit these shoes can definitely make you stand out and feel like Maximillion.

Reporting for Duty

Once again Phillip Lim manages to charm us with his amazing silhouettes and classic cool. There is something about the gold buttons on this jacket that just makes it pop, while looking so fresh. I almost may entertain the idea that the temperature is dropping and it's time to bundle up. One thing is for sure, this winter jacket has a military inspired vibe that will certainly have you looking chic when reporting for duty.

Hammer and Nail

This spike ring by Giles & Brother would be a lovely addition to the stack of rings on my finger. Though I think it looks more like a nail than a spike, I like the industrial feel of this piece. This ring will make sure you are nailed in.

It's Been a Pleasure

We all know that Herve Leger perfected banded-chic clothing, but recently knockoffs have been popping up left and right, making this style much more accessible to the masses. Pleasure Doing Business has created these three band skirts in an array of colors and have been seen hugging the hips of Rihanna in this black and white striped color. When you walk out of a room in this piece everyone will say it was a pleasure.

Steel Toe

When I saw Sea of Shoes, Jane Aldridge, post about shopping for fall Proenza Schouler shoes, I was blown away. She tried on a similar if not the same style as those posted above, but ended up going with a lace up bootie. The triple platform, wood, white, and black, is so fresh and the gold tipped cap just the right amount of va va voom. So be tough and rock a capped toe shoe this fall.

Catch Me if You Can

In a departure from their monogrammed models, Louis Vuitton created this take on old airline luggage. The Paname Takeoff Flight Bag is simple and bold, and comes in three bright colors red (shown above), blue, and yellow. This bag is most certainly making airline travel chic again, so catch me if you can.

Set and Spike

I can't help but think you would jingle everywhere you went wearing this Ben Amun pewter spike bracelet. Regardless, this bracelet does a great job of being both tough and feminine/elegant at the same time. It also is available in a mixed gold and silver combination, but I prefer the silver. This bracelet will certainly have you set and spike for the win.

Step Up

After a trip to Scandinavia, I became obsessed with their unreasonably good looking, well dressed hipsters. One of the other things I got hooked on was the amazing Swedish brand, Acne Jeans. From their Pop Chinos to their recent collaboration with Lanvin making luxury denim dresses and jackets, this company has continued to raise it's style quota with age. I love these leather booties with suede covered heel. They have a side zip, and also remind me a bit of the Marc Jacobs shoes where the heel emerged from the sole and was parallel to the ground. Either way, they are certainly fierce and a step above the rest.

Fete Fun

This little dress by Christopher Deane may not look like the most interesting piece you have ever seen but upon closer inspection the little row of studs around the waist completely sold me. With a pair of stockings and some serious shoes this could be a fun piece to wear out this winter. This one will certainly turn all of your winter festivities into a fete of fun.

Skirting the Issue

I'll be the first to admit that I am not the most girly of dressers per say. Though I have been going through a dress phase, this skirt may bring me back to the top - bottom combination. This Thread Social two tiered skirt is a fresh silhouette that combines one of my favorites, a full skirt, with a hint of color. I can picture this with a long black, boyfriend blazer for fall or maybe even a chunky sweater as a contrast in texture. Either way let's not skirt the issue, this piece is fabulous.

Barbed and Dangerous

This Burberry ring does a fantastic job of blending together both the tough biker trend, ever prevalent this winter, along with a touch of sophistication and polish. The way the ring is constructed almost makes it look like a stack. It certainly will leave you barbed and dangerous.

White, Black, and Sequined All Over

If you were looking for the answer to the question, "What is white, black, and sequined all over?" Then the answer would most certainly be this standout Alice + Olivia blazer. This one is definitely not for someone who wants to blend in with the crowd, as this jacket's over the top zebra print and sequined collar will most certainly get you noticed. I picture this as something Rachel Zoe would wear and totally "Shut it down." Riddle me this: Can you do without this blazer come New Years?

Collaboration Nation: Where the Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony

Where the Wild Things Are is being released into theaters soon, through director Spike Jones's vision. Opening Ceremony was so inspired that they created a line of pieces that draw from Jones's characters. They are all super furry and you can even purchase Max pajamas complete with eared hood. I was drawn to the Ira Full Skirt and the Bull Shawl Jacket. These pieces are sure to bring out the wild thing in you.

Worth the Weight in Gold

Ever want to feel like a million bucks? Ever want to carry said million around in the palm of your hand? Then this vintage Chanel gold bar clutch from What Goes Around Comes Around Vintage is just the bag for you. I can't quite decide what my feelings are on their vintage offerings, but this one is just too amazing to pass up writing about. This bag is a good as the gold bar it imitates and even Fort Knox couldn't keep it on lock.

Sticky FIngers

Every night out on the town that involves a clutch also is accompanied by the worry that said clutch will be left on some unsuspecting table top or bar stool. Enter Alexander McQueen's Faithful leather studded glove clutch, which ensures you can keep a hand on your personal items without clutching your bag for dear life. The studs and glove give this bag a definite rocker edge that most certainly won't sneak off because of someone's sticky fingers.
